Report: Russia ready to expand industrial, farm exports to Algeria
MOSCOW, Oct 9 (PRIME) -- Russia is ready to export civil aircraft, cars, agricultural equipment to Algeria, the states are also discussing cooperation in mineral resources development, water transportation, space and pharmaceuticals, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Algerian news agency APS on Monday ahead of his visit to the country.
“Industry is among the most important spheres for cooperation. Russia’s biggest companies -- Power Machines, Gazprom -- have been successfully working in Algeria in such important industries as energy and geological prospecting,” he said.
He also said that Russia exports cars to Algeria and plans to expand the product range, that the states “actively cooperate in energy,” “have many successful oil and gas projects,” and plan to boost cooperation in agriculture.
Medvedev also said that Russia is ready to offer Algeria its technologies if it decides to develop the nuclear industry, and may help build renewable energy projects.
The official is sure that the countries need to create comfortable business conditions.
“Our Algerian partners are working to turn the state into a regional industrial and energy center in North Africa… We will, of course, support them. Russian companies are ready to participate in joint projects.”
